However is used for contrasting ideas and comes in handy when highlighting how wealth and an easy life meant heck to the overall population of Ancient Greece, made up mostly of peasants and slaves. Unless also introduces a contrasting idea to the main cluase, or at least an alternative to mend the dreaded upshot foreseen by such information, claiming that there'll be a shortage of nurses responsible for caring for the old and aged.
