  Rewriting just means doing the write-up while saving the revision process for later.

  Editing and proofreading might be thought of as tantamount to each other, but their relationship is rather complementary in nature. While proofreading involves mainly going over the first draft in order to catch grammar and spelling slip-ups, editing starts as soon s you're done with proofreading. The task of editing requires restructuring the sentences so as to make them more cohesive, as well as making the necessary tweaks to make sure that the paragraph transition is smooth and your text conveys the intended meaning to its target audience. At this stage, you should also be critical of whether your text's argumentation holds to back up your point of view and its established premises.
