THE euro-zone's feeble recovery since the spring of 2013 came to a halt in
the second quarter of 2014, when GDP stagnated. There were some bright

the first quarter, rebounded, with growth of 0.5% and 0.6% respectively. But
the euro area was held back by poor performances in its three biggest

0.2%; France, the second largest economy, stagnated.
